Social Skills Training Groups

We offer structured social skills groups designed specifically for individuals with significant social skills deficits. These in-person groups aim to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative peer environment where participants can learn, practice, and grow. Each 75-minute session will have a structured theme but will allow for spontaneous social practice among group members.

Currently, we are offering two specialized groups:

Adolescent Group (ages 13–16):
The adolescent group is tailored to address the unique challenges teens face in navigating friendships, home and school life. Topics include understanding the social demands of friendship, recognizing and responding to nonverbal social cues, engaging in reciprocal communication, advocating for oneself in academic settings, managing relationships with adults, and practicing appropriate social etiquette for online platforms.

Young Adult Group (ages 18–22):
The young adult group focuses on the transition into adulthood and the increased social expectations that come with it. Topics include navigating workplace dynamics, strengthening reciprocal communication, reading and using nonverbal social cues effectively, maintaining and deepening friendships, and exploring issues related to dating and relationships.

Across both groups, participants learn through a structured yet flexible approach that blends social stories, modeling, role-playing, and in-the-moment corrective feedback. This active style of learning not only teaches important skills but also provides immediate opportunities to practice them in real-life social interactions with peers.
